General Description

Composite of two unrelated manuscripts: Part I = new ff. 1-107 (no music); Part II = ff. 108-215. Folios of Part II originally larger; trimmed to present size when bound together with Part I, perhaps in 16th or 17th century. Polyphony on ff. 207-212' and 213'-215, copied by a single scribe. Part I of unknown provenance; Part II probably copied at Augustinian monastery in Eberhardsklausen (associated with Windesheimer congregation). Repertory mostly of Bohemian origin (CernN); see EwerH for discussion of possible transmission routes to Eberhardsklausen. Manuscript owned by Eberhardsklausen monastery until 1802, then transferred to Jesuit library in Trier in connection with the secularization; later incorporated in Trier Stadtbibliothek.

RISM Description

RISM B IV/3: 15.
