RISM Description

RISM

XVIe s. 4 livres de 88 ff. chacun. Papier, 235 x 160 mm.

Foliotation ancienne.

RISM notes: "The praise-motet «Lucrecia pulcra», the only secular composition in the ms, may have been written for Lucrezia Borgia who, after her marriage with Duke Alfonso d’Este in 1501, lived in Ferrara until her death in 1519; this would situate the ms in the circle of the Este court. Furthermore, the paper and repertoire also allow for a date around 1520."
