Composite of originally separate fascicles and gatherings. Copied mostly by Johannes Orceau (SherrPC). There are a few corrections and revisions by several somewhat later scribes, possibly including Carpentras and Galeazzo Hercolani (DeanS).

Foliotation ancienne en ch. romains au bas de la marge gauche au v des ff.: 1-190; numérotation ancienne irrégulière au r des ff. en ch romains: I-XXX; foliotation moderne: 1-169. Les ff. lr-v, 2r-v, 3, 98v [87v], 99 [88], 103v [92v], 104 [93], 110v [99v], 111 [100], 127v [116v], 128 [117], 136v [125v], 137 [126], 147v [136v], 148 [137], 154v [143v], 155 [144], 190v [169v] sont blancs. Dans la foliotation ancienne, les ff. 82 à 91, 173 à 182 mq. ou ont été sautés dans la foliotation. Quelques initiales ornées en couleurs. Rehure XVIIIe s. cuir, fermoirs et bouillons métal.

Bien que la date 1507 soit inscrite auf f. 165v [154], ce ms. de plusieurs mains a été réuni en 1 vol. à partir de fascicules séparés, copiés, d'après l'étude des filigranes et des styles d'écriture, entre 1503 et 1512, c'est-à-dire durant le pontificat de Jules II dont les armes figurent à l'initiale du f. 3v, alors que Johannes Orcéau était scribe pontifical. Ce ms., l'un des premiers à suivre l'ordre de l'année liturgique dans ses 45 motets, contient le motet-passion no 16 de Jo. A l'Aventure (ou A. Longueval ou J. Obrecht) dont l'attribution reste l'une des énigmes non résolues. Enfin, les nombreuses corrections apportées au Salve regina de Carpentras (no 40) et qui émanent certainement d'un compositeur, sont peut-être de la main de Carpentras lui-même. Les irrégularités de la foliotation ancienne montrent que de nombreux ff. mq. dans le ms. actuel.
