General Description

Main scribe possibly Peter Steydl (BenteNW); ff. 1'-5 and ff. 118'-162 probably copied by Lucas Wagenrieder. Copied in Munich, for use by the Bavarian ducal court chapels of Wilhelm IV (1493-1550) and Albrecht V (1528-79). Kept in Hofkapelle library until end of 18th century, then transferred to ducal court library, whose holdings formed foundation of present Bayerische Staatsbibliothek.

Original numbering of pieces, 2-7 (first piece not numbered, but included in enumeration). Blank folios: 1, 5'-6, 21'-22, 60'-61, 117'-118, 162'-163, 227'-228, 288'.
