Copied by a single scribe. Motet by Jaquet of Mantua is for St. Anthony; other pieces associated with veneration of the Holy Cross. Probably of south German origin. Unidentified ex libris inside back cover: ornamental floral designs surrounding monogram 'FIT.'

i + 55 + i paper folios, 557 x 420. Upper margins of some folios missing, apparently due to moisture damage. Two systems of new pencil foliation: (1) 1-54, on upper right rectos (some folios lack numbers, but all included in enumeration except one blank folio following f. 28); (2) 1-55, on lower right rectos (many numbers partly or completely obliterated by trimming). Original covers of brown leather over boards, with date "1573." No index. Each piece preceded by title page giving attribution, number of voices, and date "1573." Copied by a single scribe. Staff height 32. Red initials (printed from wood blocks), decorated with floral motifs and pictures of ecclesiastical dignitaries, saints, etc. Watermark generally resembles Briquet #1245.
