Composite of originally separate fascicles assembled by Luca Orfeo in 1599. Copied by several scribes, including Luca Orfeo (signature on f. 24 and f. 134) and Johannes Parvus (ff. 120'-132). Copied in Rome, for use by Cappella Sistina.

Many folios in extremely poor condition due to severe ink corrosion; some music now illegible. Modern pencil foliation, 1-190, on lower center rectos (excludes front modern flyleaf, rear original flyleaf, and rear modern flyleaf).
