General Description

A Contratenor [I] Cantoris partbook from a set of six volumes. Main corpus copied by John Todd and Toby Brookinge; later additions by John White, Matthew Owen, Robert Softley, William Greggs, John Geeres, five unidentified scribes whose hands appear only in this source, and two other unidentified scribes: (1) also wrote most of DurC C1 and made additions in DurC C2 and DurC C8; (2) also made additions in DurC C2, DurC C8, DurC C15, and DurC C16 (Brian Crosby). Copied in Durham, for use by cathedral choir.
