Tye's 'I am well pleased' (f.77) is a contrafact of his anthem 'I have loved'

An Early 17th century partbook with a 'Tenor Decani' part noted on fly leaf. Probably not an orphan from another set, since the Tenor parts are interleaved with a 1636 edition of the Book of Common Prayer with the items inserted where they would appear liturgically. This is therefore most likely to have been a personal copy of the tenor part made from one or more sets of music-only partbooks. The librarian (Tim Eggington) believes it constitutes a Queens' counterpart to the Peterhouse partbooks. It contains some otherwise unknown music by known composers of the period. It is believed to have been assembled and copied c. 1640.
'Tenor Decani' noted on fly leaf
Early 17th century choir part book recently found in the College Library. 102 leaves, 36 cm high; collection of services and anthems.
Because the music is clearly intended to be integral with the book, all the pages of the Book of Common Prayer have been photographed and are shown in the order in which they appear with the music pages. A representative sample of watermark images was also taken.
Digitized with funding from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (UK) for the Tudor Partbooks project at the Universities of Oxford and Newcastle.
