Voice Text:
Procedentem sponsum de thalamo... Benedicamus domino
General NoteAlthough it cannot be deciphered owing to the lack of a stave, it is interesting because it is the only known three-part version of the extremely popular Procedentem sponsum de thalamo (for incipit of the two-part version, cf. ETw 44 6). The first two lines of text (Procedentem sponsum. de thalamo. Prophetavit scriba cum calamo) have no music, but the three-part writing begins at Quem progressum divina gratia. Each voice-part is divided by a horizontal line and the neumes are more of the St. Gall type than those of the corpus. |
