General Description

Contains tropes, sequences and conductus. The main part of the codex begins at p. 19 with the Kyrie Tro 'Cunctipotens'. All 7 conductus, which are here in two parts only in every case, belong to the Notre Dame repertory.

8 staves per page in the main part of the MS, and 10 from p. 1-18; black four-line staves with f, a or c for the clef are used for the monody. The polyphony is in score with pairs of black five-line staves separated by a wavy red line and punctuated by rudimentary bar-lines.

RISM Description

RISM B/IV 1: A 13th century parchment manuscript meas. 170 x 117 mm. and containing 176 pages paginated in modern pencil. There is one blank paper flyleaf at each end and another at each end stuck to the front and back covers. The binding of wooden boards with half leather only has thinner boards than StG B, and makes use of blind tooling to ornament the leather. The contents are tropes, sequences and conductus written in a notation half-way between that of Saint Martial and Notre Dame in development. The main part of the codex begins at p. 19 with the Kyrie Tro "Cunctipotens". Here the long is used as the symbol for a single note, though from p. 1-16 breves can be found as well in the shape of the oblique punctum. There are 8 staves per page in the main part of the ms, and 10 from p. 1-18. The Te deum on p. 17-18 is a later addition in the notation of the ms corpus. For the monody black four-line staves with f, a or c for the clef are used, while the polyphony is in score with pairs of black five-line staves separated by a wavy red line and punctuated by rudimentary bar-lines. Initials are red and green. All 7 conductus, which are here in two parts only in every case, belong to the Notre Dame repertory.
