General Description

A gradual probably from the repealed Cistercian Abbey of Neuberg in Styria. Its contents, which are broadly consistent with Ms. A-Gu10, include: f. 1, added later leaves with a monophonic Sanctus and Agnus; proprium de tempore f. 2-94, f. 94v-143 Proper de Sanctis, f. 143v-150v mass formulary, f. 150v-164v antiphons and hymns, f. 164v-172v Ordinaries (final incomplete, including 3 two-part Kyrie tropes (see inventory), on the rear cover an Asperges me was added later.)

The second and third polyphonic pieces were originally in AGU 10 but have been moved to this book at some point.

RISM B IV/3: 15. Jh.; 172 Blätter Pergament, 550 x 370 mm. Originale Foliierung von f. I-CLXI (es fehlen f. LVIII, LIX, LXXVII); moderne Bleistiftfoliierung von f. 1-172, wobei originale f. I = moderne f. 2. Je Seite 12 Vierliniensysteme (rote F- und gelbe c-Linie) mit gotischer Choralnotation - Einband: 17. Jh., hellbraunes Schweinsleder mit Blindpressung und Messingbeschlägen.

Die Handschrift, ein Graduale aus der ersten Hälfte des 15. Jh., stammt höchstwahrscheinlich aus dem aufgehobenen Zisterzienserstift Neuberg in Steiermark. Inhaltlich stimmt sie weitgehend mit Ms. A-Gu10 überein.

Inhalt: f. 1 später hinzugefügtes Blatt mit einstimmige Sanctus und Agnus; f. 2-94 Proprium de tempore; f. 94v-143 Proprium de Sanctis; f. 143v-150v verschiedene Messformulare; f. 150v-164v Antiphonen und Hymnen; f. 164v-172v Ordinariumssätze (Schluss unvollständig), darunter 3 tropierte zweistimmige Kyrie (siehe Incipitverzeichnis); im hinteren Deckel später hinzugefügtes Asperges me.

The manuscript, a gradual of the first half of the 15th Century, is most likely from the repealed Cistercian Abbey of Neuberg in Styria. Its content is broadly consistent with Ms. A-Gu10.
