General Description

First section (ff. [iv']-48) contains three-voice works except for four-voice piece on ff. 4'-5; second section (ff. 48'-[78]) contains four-voice works except for three-voice pieces on ff. 75'-[78]. One main scribe copied ff. [iv'J-63; second scribe copied ff. 63'-17; 'Consomo la vita mia' (f. 78) is later addition by a different hand. Probably copied in Paris, for René II de Vaudemont, Duke of Lorraine (1451-1508), or for René's son Antoine I, Duke 1508-44 (CouchL).
