General Description

Collection of miscellaneous folios, now in a modern guard book. Only new ff. 20-23 contain music. Copied by two or three scribes. Owned by the antiquarian Francis Douce (1757-1834); passed to Bodleian Library in 1834.

RISM B/IV 4: 15. Jh.; 4 Blätter Pergament, f. 20: 200 x 140 mm, f. 21: 175 x 130 mm, f. 22: 205 x 130 mm, f. 23: 182 x 150 mm. Moderne Foliierung von f. 20-23 (innerhalb der Fragmentsammlung). Je Seite 9 rote Fünfliniensysteme mit weißer, f. 21r mit schwarzer Mensuralnotation - Einband: Ganze Fragmentsammlung in Lederband.

Diese 4, heute in einer Sammlung von Fragmenten des 13. bis 15. Jh. aufbewahrten Blätter enthalten von verschiedenen Händen um 1425 geschriebene, englische und französische Lieder (f. 21v und f. 23v sind unlesbar, vielleicht leer?).

New covers of brown tooled leather on cardboard. Only new ff. 20-23 contain music (f. 20: 200 x 140; f. 21: 180 x 130; f. 22: 205 x 130; f. 23: 182 x 150). Piece on f. 21 in black mensural notation; other pieces in white mensural notation on red staves. Copied by two or three scribes. Gothic initials and some text on f. 20 and f. 21 in red ink; no other decoration.
